Geology Plate Tectonic Theory

The Earth’s crust is a series of plates. Convection currents are causing the rocks to melt along the plate edges. This causes the rocks to move outwards. Where these plates meet the crust can slide over the plate, forcing ocean rocks down. Great pressures occur along these boundaries.Volcanoes and earthquakes can relieve this pressure.
